Cyber-Duck are pleased to officially unveil the UK’s first ‘total’ retirement application, RetireEasy - A new financial planning service for retirees in the UK.
Who are RetireEasy?
RetireEasy’s first product is called LifePlan, a retirement planning application that allows retirees to plan and visualise their future retirement. RetireEasy have worked in partnership with Cyber-Duck to develop the UK’s first ‘total’ retirement application.

How does it work?
In just seven simple steps retirees enter information such as their desired income in retirement, assets, investments, debts, loans and pensions, along with any other income and expenses into the LifePlan. Retirees now also have the option of creating either a ‘single retirees’ or ‘couples retirees’ account. The Couples version recognises the way the UK tax system works for couples and then makes all the calculations for your income.
What is the LifePlan?
The LifePlan is an innovative and intuitive dashboard which takes all the data gathered and produces easy to read graphs which will show how much they are due to save and spend and how it will impact their future pension. All the user has to do is update their home, pension, assets, investments, Debts, loans, income and expenses on a weekly basis.
How did you ensure a superior user experience?
Cyber-Duck elected to use their award-winning UCD (User Centred Design) process. This includes brainstorming meetings, marketing strategy planning, card sorting, expert stakeholder interviews, creating flow of control diagrams and wireframing. The application has been tested with real users through eye tracking and focus groups throughout the production process, in order to validate decisions made.
Is it possible to create such a complex application in 9 months?
The answer is yes! By taking an agile development approach and utilising UCD (User Centred Designed) combined with SCRUM, the design deliverables were crystal clear and approved by all stakeholders early on. A well-structured team and regular meetings generated constant communication and buzz around the project. This allowed the agile development team to design the systems architecture quickly whilst maintaining constant adaptation to ‘real life’ commercial changes.
