Luxury African safari tour operators launch new trade website

This week, Cyber-Duck launched a brand new dedicated trade website for African safari operators and long standing client, The Far Horizons. The visually stunning website has been built as a portal for travel operators to find out more about the services and destinations offered by this established destination management company.

The Far Horizons is a leading inbound tour operator providing expert ground operations and destination management for tailor-made luxury safaris in Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya.  The Far Horizons has fully owned operations in Kampala and Kigali, with a team of travel professionals offering unique and sustainable quality travel experiences, such as gorilla trekking, authentic cultural encounters, and adventure safaris.

The new website is aimed at the international travel trade, from safari specialists and independent travel planners to travel agents and tour operators, who need the services of a high end ground operator in Uganda and Rwanda. The website features stunning wildlife photography from professional photographers and safari guides which capture the incredible landscapes and wildlife experienced on their safari tours.

The Far Horizons new trade website

The website makes it incredibly easy for trade customers to gain access to a plethora of useful materials, from a vast image bank to sales tools such as destination information manuals and tour itineraries. Members of the travel trade will simply need to register on the new website, and once their account has been verified using the back end CRM system, they will have access to the full range of sales tools and content.

To maximise the effect of the remarkable photography from The Far Horizons, we implemented full screen background imagery regardless of the screen size the user is visiting from. This was done via a JQuery plug in called Supersized.

This website and CRM is the latest project we’ve developed for The Far Horizons. Back in 2010, Cyber-Duck were commissioned by the company to develop a website for their retail operation. This has become the main brand channel for their UK-based sister company, Journeys Discovering Africa, allowing The Far Horizons to focus on the trade, with a dedicated website designed to serve the needs of the global travel industry.
