The Drum Awards for the Digital Industries (DADIs) celebrate digital excellence, rewarding and showcasing the most effective online strategies and campaigns across the last year. Selected by a prestigious panel amidst tough competition (with over 550 entries!), we will be celebrating with the best in digital at the awards ceremony in Westminster this October.
Digital/Creative Team - Cyber-Duck
We’re happy the achievements of our brilliant team as a whole have been recognised through our nomination for the Digital Team of the Year. We’ve had a fantastic last year at Cyber-Duck, with our highlights summarised in this nostalgic interactive timeline. 2014 is proving to be even better, with Ramon flown to SXSW to give a talk debunking the myths surrounding CSS pre-processors, and Danny, our MD, being selected as one of BIMA’s Hot 100 digital figures for the second year running.
Craig, our Production Lead, was excited about the nomination. “We’re particularly proud of being finalists for this category, as it recognises the strong team dynamic at Cyber-Duck. Our close bond means the different departments – from user experience (UX) design, development, to marketing – collaborate creatively, which is reflected in the high quality of the work we produce”.

Financial Services Website – mydlc
Our second nomination recognises the development of mydlc, a bespoke customer payment portal reflecting the prestige of dlc, the UK’s leading independent debt recovery firm. We had to demonstrate evidence of clear strategic thinking, innovation and effectiveness, with tangible results, to even be considered for this award.
Before the redevelopment, a third-party service was available for customers to make one-off payments, which was difficult to navigate and therefore barely used. Launched in December 2013, the new portal increases the user-friendliness of debt collection; carefully tailored to customers’ needs, it empowers them to pay towards their debts easily online. A responsive web design (RWD) was used to build the portal, ensuring it is optimised for users across devices. The portal’s effectiveness was further assured by fully integrating the back-end with dlc’s existing infrastructure, aiming to maintain data integrity. Since launch, the portal has achieved some outstanding results, demonstrating a huge 228% increase in monthly revenue. Given the criteria for the award, we believe mydlc is a worthy finalist.
