The sun is finally out and we are in May, for many top digital professionals that can only mean one thing, Digital Shoreditch is just around the corner. For the second year running Cyber-Duck will be well represented at the event. Matt Gibson and Ramon Lapenta will each be running workshops, sharing their knowledge, experience and tips for approaching responsive web design (RWD).
Adapting to responsive for UX design
When: Saturday 25th May, 3:00pm to 3:45pm
Where: Shoreditch Town Hall
Fresh from his workshop at UX London, Cyber-Duck Production Director, Matt Gibson has prepared a workshop that explores approaching user experience (UX) planning and design as part of a responsive web design (RWD) project. This insightful workshop, entitled “Adapting to responsive for UX design” will be one of the afternoon workshops on the “Make & Do” Saturday, and will serve as a follow up to the well received, table top discussion he chaired with Ramon last year at Digital Shoreditch, Adaptive web design – Does size matter?
Responsive web design is now changing how many teams approach their projects. Do designers really need to produce endless wireframes or fully designed comps for every breakpoint of their responsive website or application? Along with hands-on activities, Matt will be sharing first-hand experiences and helpful tips along the way, all of which could be applied to your responsive web design projects.

Cracking the code to true responsiveness
When: Saturday 25th May, 2:30pm to 3:15pm
Where: Shoreditch Town Hall
Also very much on the topic of responsive web design, leading Front-End Developer, Ramon Lapenta will be talking about the pros and cons of using off-the-shelf CSS responsive frameworks such as Twitter Bootstrap. You can expect to learn about how and why creating a flexible and truly responsive front-end solution could fit your needs better when searching for a mobile-friendly website. Ramon also plans to cover accessibility features that tie in with responsive on the “Make and Do” Saturday, a few hours after Matt Gibson.
The avid Digital Pond attendees amongst our readers will remember Ramon from his speech “The Responsive Mindset” at the highly successful meet-up group last month, “Approaching Responsive Web Design”.
