It's been a busy week at Cyber-Duck: with new colleagues joining and conferences about mobile applications with our clients.
We have a new member joining the team. A Design for Interactive Media Masters graduate from Middlesex University, Sarah Morrison will be utilising her user experience and web development knowledge to work with Strategy Manager Siji on building relationships with new and existing clients.
At Cyber-Duck, we love inviting young people for internships to get a taste of their chosen field, and the inner workings of a digital agency. Laura recently completed her work experience in the HR department, and shared her experiences:
"During my winter break in my final year of German Studies in Germany and Poland I had a great opportunity to spend one month as a Human Resources Intern at Cyber-Duck. It was a priceless experience, even if short. As Cyber-Duck is a growing company, I could personally assist in a variety of HR tasks and was given useful advice and explanations at each stage.
"Throughout the internship I learnt how to advertise roles, screen, assess applications, arrange and conduct interviews. It equipped me with practical knowledge and insight into HRM. Additionally, I enjoyed the atmosphere of Cyber-Duck a lot. It’s a team of young, hard-working and passionate developers and designers."
We were lucky enough to attend the Woobius event 'Mobile Apps in the Built Environment' with client Optima Systems on Wednesday afternoon. Our Managing Director, Danny joined our client to hear from influential speakers connected to the construction industry, including Chris Ashworth from Competitive Advantage and Andrew Hudson Smith from UCL.
Optima were nominated at the event for their innovative glass calculator app. The app allows users to select the load being applied to the glass and the height the glass before being advised regarding the recommended glass thickness for both toughened and annealed glass.
