Matt leads the UX production team; he strongly believes in designs that are user-centric, original and, critically, achieve their goal. He oversees our designers right from the early stages, capturing clients’ (and their users’) needs, to UX research, development and QA.
He leads digital transformation and service design projects with a personable and dedicated approach. Matt’s collaboration with global British brands such as the Bank of England, Financial Ombudsman and Cabinet Office has meant Cyber-Duck has gone from success to success.

In 2018, Matt ran the Live Stage at the popular UX Live. He moderated four panels that explored the future for conversational UI, design leadership, ethical design and whether personas are dead
Matt was invited to fly to SXSW in Austin to shed light on responsive web design. It’s often framed as an implementation challenge. Instead, Matt covered responsive design from a user experience perspective; looking beyond media queries at the challenges (and how to overcome them) of mobile content strategies, designing for performance, and being more future friendly with progressive enhancement!
Matt was invited to feature on BBC Watchdog. He used our state-of-the-art eye tracker to shine a light on websites that trick and confuse users into paying more than they bargained for.
Matt is an avid writer. He wrote an article for Smashing Magazine around the redevelopment of our website and how we adapted to a responsive design. With 76 comments, it was so popular that the article was published in their acclaimed book, ‘Responsive Web Design: Vol. 2’.
