User experience expertise

As our Chief Creative Officer, Matt adds a unique flair across all aspects of Cyber-Duck; leading brand, design and UX work for clients, alongside distinctive contributions to our agency’s vibrant new business and promotional strategy.

Above all, Matt pursues original designs and interfaces that are of a high, consistent quality: each must be memorable, easy to use, memorable and critically achieve what they set out to do, for clients and their users. Drawing on his diverse background, Matt gets involved throughout the creative process: from leading research studies with users and clients alike, to hands-on art direction, prototyping and coding designs.

He has been a key figure in securing and working closely on digital transformation projects for global and British heritage brands including the European Commission, Arsenal FC and the Institute of the Motor Industry.

Matt developed a smart, professional brand to encapsulate the authority of the Institute of the Motor Industry.

Industry recognition

Matt believes giving back to the wider community is one of the (many!) fantastic things about working in the web industry. He frequently speaks at notable industry events, including the Future of Web Design, UXPA, UX London and Reasons to be Creative. In 2016, he’s looking forward to joining UXAlive in Istanbul, and is amongst SXSWi’s renowned speaker roster in Austin, voted by the community.

An avid writer, Matt has contributed to a range of reputable publications including Web Designer, .Net and Smashing Magazine. The popularity of his article for Smashing Magazine meant it was chosen for publish in their acclaimed book ‘Responsive Web Design: Vol. 2’.

He also enjoys teaching the next generation of designers: lecturing and mentoring students at UEL, Nottingham and City University. Matt has even made guest appearances on the small screen: analysing dark patterns in ecommerce design for BBC Watchdog, and helping create an interactive comic for Channel 5’s Gadget Show.

He revealed insights about designing the client experience at Future of Web Design London.
